  • This is a paddy variety of 165 days.
  • It is called "Chengalpattu Sirumani" because this variety is grown very prominently in the Chengalapttu district of Tamilnadu.
  • This variety can grow well in water logged areas.
  • It can be cultivated between the months of July to January.
  • It can be cultivated in clayey soil, alluvial soil and sandy soil.
  • This is a high yielding variety of rice. The average yield is about 1500 kgs per acre.
  • The rice is white and coarse. It is suitable for South Indian meal.
