Various features of this variety of rice are as follows :

This variety of rice is a cross between ADT 36 and CO 45. Year of notification was in 2002.

The plant height is semi-dwarf (100 cm).

It takes about 135 days to grow.

The grains have high hulling (79.6 per cent) and milling (72 per cent) rates, and the head recovery is 61.5 per cent.

ADT (R) 46 is non-lodging. It is recommended for growing as a transplanted crop in the irrigated lands.

The grains have higher crude protein and amylose content.

It is grown in Tamil Nadu.

The variety registered an impressive high yield over the other varieties tested, according to Tamil Nadu Agriculture University.
