Fertilizer Association of India (FAI)
Fertilizer Association of India is a registered company which was established in the year 1955. This association represents nationally, all fertilizer manufacturers in India including public, private, joint and cooperative sectors. FAI is not for profit and non trading organization of fertilizer manufacturers, distributors, technologists, plant/equipment manufacturers, research institutes and others interested in fertilizers. It is involved in a variety of activities such as government industry interface, international relations, developmental activities, special studies, documentation, training, awards, publications.
FAI works with a strong motive to bring close all people involved in the production, marketing and use of fertilizers and provide solutions to their industry problems. It also assists agriculture industry to improve its operative efficiency and encourage the productive use of balanced fertilizers for increasing agricultural productivity. Board of Directors manage FAI and they reflect distinguished interests of its members. Annual subscription by the members is the main source of finance for FAI to continue with its activities.
Objectives of FAI
FAI main objective is to unite people engaged in fertilizer industry and have similar interest. To make an addition to the sound agricultural practices and contribute to the economically improved fertilizer & agriculture industries, FAI promotes considerations and discussions of all questions. Preparing fertilizers, increasing soil fertility and crop production and carrying on with scientific and economic research are another few objectives on which FAI focuses. It encourages efficient use of fertilizers of all types and better plant food.

Category and eligibility for membership

Active members : Any person, firm or company who is engaged in the manufacturing of fertilizers in India or the importation of fertilizers or the distribution of imported fertilizers of any kind in quantity not less than 50,000 per year.

Associate members : Any person, firm, company corporation or association in India who is a fertilizer distributor or dealer, manufacturer or supplier of fertilizer plants, equipment or appliances or of materials used in fertilizer manufacture; or engaged in the design and construction of fertilizer plants, equipment or appliances or a manufacturer of agricultural chemicals; or a producer of certified seeds, or interested in or concerned with fertilizers or agricultural production, shall be eligible to be a associate member of this association.

Overseas associate member : Any person, firm, company, corporation or association involved in business of fertilizers or fertilizer raw material, plants, equipments outside India and not having any office or branch in India is eligible to be a overseas member of this association.

Technical & Professional Associate member : Any individual possessing professional or technical qualification in agricultural or related sciences is eligible for this membership.
